3 July 2014 Tel Aviv, State of Israel. OFWs based in Haifa and other parts of northern Israel availed themselves of various consular services when the Philippine Embassy conducted a two-day consular outreach mission in the city from 20 to 21 June 2014, at IRemit Office and St. Joseph Latin Parish.

The consular team offered services such as passport processing and releasing, notarials (special power of attorney and certification), NBI clearance, voluntary registration and issuance of Embassy ID, OWWA membership contribution and overseas employment certificate. Apart from offering consular services, the Embassy also took the opportunity to register the applicants for overseas absentee voting, encouraging OFWs to register for the 2016 Election. An estimated 200 OFWs benefited from various services during the consular mission.

The Philippine Embassy conducts mobile services in various parts of Israel in line with its mission of making its services more accessible to Filipino workers. It is the second time that the Embassy conducted a consular outreach mission in Haifa this year. It may be noted that Haifa is the third largest city in Israel and also has the third biggest concentration of Filipino workers numbering more than 4,000. --END--
