22 October 2019, Tel Aviv - The Philippine Embassy, through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, assisted another Filipina caregiver recently in retrieving the placement fee amounting to USD 2,670 from her Filipina sub-agent. The caregiver was referred to POLO by a concerned Filcom leader.

The caregiver, whose name is withheld upon request, arrived in Israel in June 2019 and paid her placement fee to the Filipina sub-agent. She worked in Israel for over three (3) months but due to difficulty in adjusting to working conditions which affected her health, she decided to return to the Philippines.

POLO contacted her Israeli recruitment agency to provide a return plane ticket to the Philippines. She flew back to Manila on 17 October 2019.

The Philippine Embassy reiterates its warning the Filipino community to stop engaging in this illegal recruitment practice to avoid liability and prosecution under Philippine laws.  --- END
