21 October 2014, Tel Aviv, State of Israel – The Philippine Embassy invites all members of the Filipino Community in Israel to support and attend the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to be held on 6 December 2014, from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, at the Terra Sancta School in Yafo, Tel Aviv.
The lighting ceremony not only marks the start of the holiday season among Filipinos in Israel, but also serves as an opportunity for them to celebrate it in the spirit of unity and camaraderie, observing joyful and beloved Filipino Christmas traditions.
To celebrate the Christmas spirit and also show the Philippines' unique festive way of celebrating the season, the Embassy will also be holding a Choral Group Competition and Parol-Making Contest after the ceremony. Both activities will showcase two of the most popular Christmas traditions in the Philippines, namely, singing of Christmas carols in the streets, homes and churches, and the colorfully bright parol that is one of the iconic symbols of Christmas in the country.
