NOTICE OF CHANGES ON THE OFFICIAL ACRONYM OF THE PHILIPPINES

The Philippine Embassy in Israel wishes to announce that the Philippine government will no longer use the acronym RP when referring to the official name of the Republic of the Philippines.

Instead, the internationally accepted code PH and PHL will be used as the official acronym of the Republic of the Philippines.

The use of PH and PHL, when referring to the Philippines, is in accordance with the standard codes (ISO 3166-1) set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to which the Philippines is a member country.
