19 October 2021 – The Philippine Embassy announced that a total of 3,156 Filipinos - approximately 11.6% of all Filipinos in Israel - had registered as new overseas voters by the extended deadline of 14 October.

Philippine Ambassador to Israel Macairog Alberto lauded Filipinos in Israel for making an extra effort to register and be eligible to vote in the upcoming May 2022 elections. “Our overseas voting team received an overwhelming response from our community, particularly during the extension period,” he declared. “We are proud to see that Filipinos are enthusiastic about exercising their right to vote for our country’s next leaders and law-makers.”

Ambassador Alberto likewise extended his appreciation to all of the community leaders who had reached out to the Embassy’s voter registration team, headed by Vice Consul Judy Razon, to coordinate mobile outreaches to their areas. “Thanks to your initiative, we were able to hold outreaches for Filipinos in Beersheva, Ganei Tikvah, the Jordan Valley, and Ashkelon - places we have not been able to hold outreaches in before,” the Philippine envoy observed. “We hope to maintain contact with you so that we can work together on other projects for your communities in the future.”

Filipinos who recently registered to vote in Israel, as well as Filipinos who previously registered and were able to vote in at least one previous election in Israel, will be eligible to vote in the overseas elections that will be conducted in May 2022. Announcements regarding the elections will be made on the Embassy’s official Facebook page at
